Every day, lakhs of people rely on the Delhi Metro, the capital’s lifeline, as a fast, affordable, and reliable means of transport. In the rush to board or exit the train, it’s not uncommon for passengers to accidentally leave their belongings behind.

A bag may be forgotten under a seat, a packet left on the floor, or even a mobile phone slipped from one’s hand and left behind. Many assume that once an item is lost in the Metro, it’s gone, but that’s not always the case. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has a system in place to help you reclaim your lost belongings, provided you follow the right process.

Retrieve Lost Belongings In The Metro

DMRC operates a dedicated Lost and Found service to assist passengers. If you have misplaced your bag, mobile phone, or any other item on the train, platform, or at a security checkpoint, you should immediately call 011-23417910 and dial extension 113701. Once connected, you’ll need to provide details about your lost item.

Check The DMRC Website

In addition to calling, you can also check the DMRC’s official website’s lost and found page and go to the List of Lost Items section. This page provides a station-wise list containing item names, descriptions, and the date they were found. You can scroll through the list to see if your item has been located.

If you find your lost item in the online list, detailed instructions will be provided on how to claim it. By following the prescribed steps, you can collect your belongings from the respective station or DMRC office.
