Does The Cat Die In A Quiet Place: Day One? Now We Know

A Quiet Place: Day One is in theaters now, and if you’ve seen any of the trailers, you may know that the film features a cute little cat named Frodo. Naturally, then, you might be wondering if the fuzzball survives the events of the movie. The cat, played by real felines named Schnitzel and Nico, is featured throughout the movie alongside main character Sam (Lupita Nyong’o), but is he strong and brave enough to fend off an alien invasion and make it through alive?

Whether or not Frodo survives might be a very important thing to know for moviegoers, and now that the film is in theaters, we know how it all goes down. Spoilers for Day One follow below.

No. Frodo does not die. Phew! GamesRadar reports that Frodo makes it to the end of the film alive, but it’s not so easy for him. Frodo smartly scurries away off-screen during some of the movie’s major action sequences, but he always returns. Frodo also has to hold his breath when Sam and Eric (Joseph Quinn) have to swim underwater in the subway. He has quite the journey.

The last we see of Frodo in Day One is the little critter on a boat with survivors, heading to an island (yes, that island from A Quiet Place: Part II) and away from the alien invaders. Here’s to hoping he lived out the rest of his days with much love and happiness.

Day One is in theaters now. Directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), Day One is a prequel to the series that shows the day the aliens came to Earth. It won’t be the last A Quiet Place movie, as Sony Pictures is moving ahead with A Quiet Place: Part III.

Outside of the film series, the video game A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set for release later this year.
