According to the official Press Release, the airline has refurbished two new A320neo jets—VT-RTW and VT-RTZ—with a setup that includes 8 plush seats in Business class, 24 seats with extra legroom in Premium Economy, and 132 cozy seats in Economy. This enhancement marks the debut of Premium Economy cabins on narrowbody aircraft for Air India.

Passengers can expect a refined inflight experience with features like subtle cabin lighting, ample legroom, USB ports for charging devices, and ergonomic seating across all classes. Air India plans to extend this three-class configuration across its entire full-service narrowbody fleet in the coming year.

Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director of Air India, said “The upgrade of the narrowbody fleet, which operates on domestic and short-haul international network, complements the upgraded widebody experience now available on our A350 fleet and new B777s, and on all other widebodies as they are refitted over the next two years.”

The seats in all three classes, customized by Collins Aerospace, boast ergonomic designs and comfort features such as literature pockets, charging ports, tray tables, and coat hooks, all aimed at maximizing passenger comfort.

Business class offers 40-inch seats with extensive recline and various adjustable features, while Premium Economy boasts larger seats, upgraded meal services, and enhanced amenities. Economy class passengers will also benefit from ergonomic design and modern conveniences.
