Fallout Season 2 Trailer Suggests It’ll Be The New Vegas Remaster Everyone’s Been Asking For

The first season of the Fallout series on Prime Video received praise for telling an original story in the world of the games, but Season 2 will get a little closer to the lore that players are familiar with. Some of the cast members and producers on the show appeared on stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live to debut the teaser trailer for Fallout Season 2, which features our first look at a character from the games appearing in the show, while confirming the season’s premiere date of December 17.

The action-packed trailer shows where the end of last season left the characters. Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) is traveling with the gunslinging Ghoul (Walton Goggins) after the two formed an uneasy alliance to search for Lucy’s father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan). Meanwhile, we see Maximus (Aaron Moten) in his new life as a Knight, a status he gained through dubious means. And flashbacks once again show the life of actor Cooper Howard, who acted as a Vault-Tec spokesman before the nuclear conflict turned him into the terrifying Ghoul we know and love.

Exploding bodies, blood splatter, and other moments of violence and chaos are seen throughout the trailer. The footage showcases elements from the video games, including a massive Deathclaw creature that Lucy and the Ghoul encounter and subsequently flee from. But fans of the series also noticed hints of Caesar’s Legion, leading them to speculate whether the show will depict any of the endings of Fallout: New Vegas as definite canon.

Also featured in the trailer is Robert Edwin House, a significant figure from New Vegas who made a brief appearance in Season 1, but as the trailer shows, is now portrayed by actor Justin Theroux. Based on the few minutes shown in the trailer, Season 2 is going hard on the New Vegas lore and should be a treat for players of the beloved entry in the RPG series.

New episodes of Fallout will stream weekly after the December 17 season premiere. Prime Video also recently released photos of Season 2 showing images of the Mojave Wasteland that the characters will explore.
